San Leandro, California – A drone is used to bust an illegal gambling and drug ring
After receiving a citizen’s tip regarding an illegal gambling and drug operation at a home in San Leandro, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation and used a drone to monitor the area around the residence. At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday the 27th of June, deputies served a search warrant on the house at 1200 block of Seeley Street. Authorities found that the detached garage had been set up as a casino with several gambling machines. They also found narcotics. The narcotics and gambling machines were confiscated and fourteen people were arrested on various charges including; outstanding warrrants, suspicion of possessing drugs and suspicion of operating an illegal casino.
